Rice Construction Company is a small firm located just outside of LBJ's hometown of Johnson City, Texas. We are conveniently located within an hours drive of Austin, San Antonio, Marble Falls and Fredericksburg and service much of this region.

Our focus is on client service and includes light commercial and residential custom home design and construction. We are equally comfortable working with our client's team of architects and designers and provide a boutique service from concept and planning through construction, occupancy and post-construction maintenance.

Design services are provided using Autocad software and include in-house production capabilities. Project management and implementation is provided by two principals who engage additional staff as needed for projects.

Rice Construction Company is a member of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce, the Hill Country Home Builder's Association, Texas Association of Builders and the National Association of Home Builders.

Paul Sumrall, President, is full-time with the company and oversees contracting and administrative management for the firm. His experience in production manufacturing, public accounting and project management for a union fabricating company spans over 25 years and provides insight into areas of risk management, fiscal responsibility, project coordination and procurement.

Michael Orsak, Vice President, is full-time with the company and oversees design services, sub-contracting and field operations. Mike has more than 25 years of experience including pre-cast concrete design, petrochemical design, architectural design and commercial and residential construction management.

Mike has recently completed training and accreditation through the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Assocation.

Mike is a member of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association, Hill Country Home Builder's Association, Texas Association of Builders and the National Assocation of Home Builders.

Rice Construction Company's portfolio of completed projects includes land development services for a tract of land in Houston's central business district, historic building restoration, brownfield restoration support, design and construction services for light commercial use, multi-family townhomes and single family dwellings. We have completed minor and significant remodeling of homes and offices as well as installation of residential rainwater harvesting systems. In all categories we have provided construction and design services for both reconstruction and new construction.

Projects we have managed have received awards, including the Houston Heights Association Community Improvement Award, the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance's Good Brick Award and an AIA Construction and Design Award.
